Ashley's Barn A Horse Rescue and Shelter Organization With compassionate hearts, gentle hands and kind words, we become true friends to animals      Ashley's Barn, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization for the rescue and shelter of abused, abandoned and surrendered horses. We are located in Hudson, New York at the Triple H Ranch, a dairy goat farm and store run by Dot Hempler. Dot, who has had a lifelong affinity toward horses, found herself being an unofficial horse rescuer, as many horses who have been abused, neglected and abandoned have found their way to her farm. She and her friend, Susan Womersley, decided to make it official and began the rescue in March 2003, naming it in memory of Dot's daughter, Ashley. All horses rescued by Ashley's Barn will be checked by our vet and farrier and will be slowly and carefully brought back to both physical and emotional health. Our goal is to place each of the horses we rescue in approved adoptive homes where they will continue to get the same quality of care and nurturing.
